Preparing for the Philly Home + Garden Show

Scott will be featured at the Philly Home + Garden Show at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks. The show will take place from Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18, 2018.

The theme of Scott’s display is “foodscaping,” which is adding edible plants to a landscape. He will offer tips for how to incorporate fruit and vegetable plants into your existing gardens, as well as small space solutions and natural garden pest deterrents.

Scott has been working hard to prepare for the show! Here’s a sneak peak of some of the components of his booth:

Raised Beds

Scott has built a few different kinds of raised beds to display at the show. Here are two small ones for those who don’t have a lot of garden space available, made with custom stainless steel brackets:

Scott will also have a large, U-shaped raised bed that is surrounded by chicken wire. This is a great option for those who are afraid to grow a vegetable garden because of deer or other animals, which is a big concern in this area.

Greenhouse

Scott will have vegetable seedlings and tender fruit and vegetable plants on display in his greenhouse.

Patio

Scott will set up a patio with a fire pit and some small container gardens. This will show how to utilize a patio or balcony to grow your own food.

Potting Bench

Scott built a custom potting bench, or planting table, that he will use to demonstrate how to start seeds and transplant seedlings.

Plants

Most importantly, Scott will have lots of plants! He has been working hard to keep them growing throughout the winter. He will have a variety of vegetables, herbs, perennials, and shrubs on display.

Media

Scott has been interviewed by Philadelphia Magazine and the Bucks County Herald about his participation in the show. 6ABC’s FYI Philly also stopped by to film a segment about foodscaping, which will air on Saturday, February 17.
